Where Faith Grows

Founded in 1961, Ascension Lutheran Church is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We are a traditional congregation that follows the Lutheran lectionary, with worship that includes hymns and congregational participation. We believe in salvation by grace through faith and that the Bible guides our doctrine and life. We celebrate Holy Communion weekly, believing in Christ’s real presence in the bread and wine.
 
Though small, with weekly worship attendance between 8-18, we’re a vibrant, singing congregation. Ascension reaches beyond its size through community outreach. On the first Saturday of each month, we provide meals for those in need, and we organize food and clothing drives for Veterans Residential Services. We also make over 100 pints of soup for VRS each fall/winter and offer prayer shawls for those in need of comfort.
